UK CHALLENGE MIDDLE DISTANCE MEET 2005 held on Saturday 15th January

Once again a smooth flowing meet at the Hertfordshire Sports Village with thanks to all our officials, especially those who traveled a fair distance with no swimmers in attendance and to our Referee’s Helen George, Geoff Wood, Steve Roch & Steve Turner, some of whom stepped in at the last minute after our lead referee Jayne Evans went down with flu (get well soon Jayne).

Thanks also to all the visiting clubs & swimmers, we hope you had a good meet and everything was to your satisfaction (if not please let us know) and to all our helpers here at Hatfield, on the raffle and entry tables, Mrs Lennox & Mrs Brown on the awards table, to Teresa George and her helpers for the great food at half time, to Nick & Jeff on the microphone (do they go on, or what!) to Mr Vine from Wycombe for his great sound system, to John George for keying in the entries and Teresa for checking them, to Barbara Scorer for liaising with the University ( and all the other jobs no one else will do) and again to my son Christopher for running the electronic timing and scoreboard displays (swimmers you are meant to be swimming during warm up, not stopping and looking at the scoreboard to see what Homer Simpson is doing)
